Prince Mahidol Award 2010 Presentation Ceremony

26 January  2011  Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, representing His Majesty the King, to present the Prince Mahidol Awards for the year 2010 to the Laureates in the field of Medicine;  Professor Nicholas J. White and  Professor Kevin Marsh, and the field of Public Health; Professor Ananda S. Prasad, Professor Kenneth H. Brown and  Professor Robert E. Black, at the Chakri Throne Hall, Grand Palace.

Total of 72 nominations from 31 countries worldwide, 5 were selected to receive the Awards. This year’s Laureates in the field of Medicine is jointly awarded to Professor Nicholas J. White, for outstanding contribution in the use of artemisinin-based combination treatment for Malaria and Professor Kevin Marsh, for outstanding contribution in the understanding of immune epidemiology of Malaria.  In the field of Public Health is jointly awarded to Professor Ananda S. Prasad, for pioneering works on the importance of zinc in human health, Professor Kenneth H. Brown, for outstanding work on zinc supplementation and Professor Robert E. Black,  for outstanding work on zinc supplementation.
